5 Reasons Why Network Marketing Is Not For You
In this article I want to give you a little self test to see if Network Marketing really is for you or not. Take some mental notes as you go down through this article and see how you do.
1. If you want to get rich quick.
There is so much hype associated with network marketing, all for the purpose of trying to grow one’s downline. Many people will tell you that you can get rich quick with network marketing, and so you need to sign up today. Now it is true that there are some people who do get rich quick, but 97%-99% of the people who get started in network marketing do not get rich quick. Network marketing is a business, and should be viewed as a business. It takes work. It takes discipline, and it takes persistence. It does pay off, and the residual income that is generated from it is well worth the effort. However, it doesn’t happen quickly, for most of us.
2. If you think it will be easy.
This word easy, is also a result of all the hype associated with MLM. For some people it may be easy, but again for many people it is not as easy as they were led to believe. Many people are told, “Come on, it’s easy. All you have to do is talk to your friends and family, and watch as your $millions just roll in.” Then they get started and their first friend they talk to tells them to take a hike. Then after their 36th friend telling them the same thing, they begin to wonder if they will ever make it. That my friend is when “easy” turns hard.
Now, for some people it is easy, because they had proper expectations before they began. They have learned how to attract the right people to them, and they are able to run a very profitable network marketing business. However, unless you know the secrets of Attraction Marketing, I would not lead you to believe that network marketing is easy, because it’s not.
3. If you refuse to use technology.
There are many industry leaders and trainers out there that will tell you to target only your “warm market,” that means the people that you know. But like I just showed you above, your warm market can turn “cold” very quick.
Technology includes everything from cell phones, computers, to internet and video.
If you want to be successful in network marketing, you will have to learn how to use technology, otherwise it just might not be for you.
4. If you hate education.
Now, you may dislike education, and still be able to make it in network marketing. But if education is a thing which you totally hate, and you refuse to learn any more, then network marketing is not for you. Why? Because success in this industry is determined by how much you are willing to learn. Things are always changing, and if you refuse to keep up by getting on going education, then you will not make it. You might as well not even get started. But I do have good news for you. I am one that is continually furthering my education, and there is so much information available that will help the budding entrepreneur to become totally successful. You don’t have to be among those who try to survive in an ever changing work environment with out education. You can tap into teaching and training that will literally unleash your network marketing business in a matter of weeks. That’s the good news. The bad news is that if you refuse further education, then network marketing most likely is not for you.
5. If you are Proud.
Now what I mean by this is not the good kind of pride – having a good self esteem, but rather, the kind of pride that holds you above everyone else. If you have a proud spirit you will not make it. If you will not listen to your mentors in this business, and come under they tutorship, then don’t even get started.
If you can humble yourself and say, “I really don’t know what I’m doing, but I am willing to learn.” Then you have already set yourself apart from about 95% other network marketers out there, and your business will take off.
That is if you place yourself as a learner under the right people. You have to be careful because there are people out there who will take you for a quite ride and lead you astray. You don’t want to be mentored by someone like that. But if you do your research and find someone who knows their stuff, and is doing well on the cutting edge of network marketing, get under that person and learn all you can. You will never regret it. But remember, “Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.” prov. 16:18
Well, How did you do? Did you find yourself in any of those positions? If so, then you should seriously consider sticking with your “day job.”
However, if you are truly willing to put effort, education, and “others first mentality” into your business, then I say, “Go for it!”
You can do it, and you will do great at it!
